Race distance conversions
Popular race distances are often expressed in kilometers, while some apps, training plans and events use miles. These are the equivalents:

These equivalents help interpret a route, but they do not convert speed limits. A distance of 50 mi equals 80.47 km; a speed of 50 mph is a different quantity and must be written as 80.47 km/h.
How these values are calculated
NIST publishes the factor:
1 mi = 1.609344 km
To convert kilometers to miles:
miles = kilometers / 1.609344
To convert miles to kilometers:
kilometers = miles × 1.609344
For example:
30 km / 1.609344 = 18.641135... mi ≈ 18.64 mi
30 mi × 1.609344 = 48.28032 km ≈ 48.28 km
