Payroll loan vs. personal loan: key differences

Compare Mexican payroll and personal loans by payment method, rate, CAT, fees, insurance and total cost.

By Calculadoras.Tools Published 6 min read

In Mexico, a crédito de nómina is linked to the account into which a salary is deposited and is often repaid automatically from payroll funds. A personal loan need not be tied to that account.

Automatic collection does not guarantee a lower price. Compare the rate, official CAT, fees, insurance, total repayment and effect on monthly liquidity.

A payroll loan’s automatic deduction can be convenient, but it also reduces available income immediately. Ask what happens if you change employers or move your payroll account.
