Concrete calculator

Estimate how much ready-mix concrete to order or how many bags to buy for slabs, columns, beams and other sections.

Concrete order

Calculate volume, bags and estimated cost

Add one or more sections. Each dimension can use its own unit.

How to measure for concrete

Measure each element by shape. The calculator converts units before adding volumes.

Slabs and beams

Multiply length, width and thickness or height.

Columns

For rectangular columns use width, depth and height; for circular columns use diameter and height.

Purchase

For bags, enter actual product yield. The calculator rounds up and shows surplus.

Concrete is not the same as cement

Concrete combines cement, aggregates and water. This tool estimates volume and purchases; it does not replace structural mix design.

Frequently asked questions

How do you calculate cubic meters of concrete?

Multiply length, width and thickness in meters. For circular columns, multiply pi by the radius squared and height. The calculator converts units before totaling.

How much concrete waste should you add?

A common allowance is 5% to 10%, but it varies with irregular excavation, forms, pumping, access and placement.

How do you calculate concrete for a slab?

For a rectangular slab, multiply length by width by thickness. Each dimension can use its own unit.

How do you calculate concrete for a circular column?

Use the diameter to obtain the radius, then multiply pi by radius squared, height and quantity.

How do you find the yield per bag?

Use the yield stated on the manufacturer's technical sheet or packaging. If it is given in litres of mix, divide by 1,000 to obtain cubic metres per bag.

Are cement and concrete the same?

No. Cement is one component; concrete combines cement, aggregates and water. This calculator estimates concrete volume and bags or ready-mix requirements.

Does the calculator estimate sand and gravel?

No. Material proportions depend on the mix, required strength and aggregates.

Can you use centimeters for thickness and meters for length and width?

Yes. Each dimension has its own unit, avoiding manual conversions.
