How days are counted

Standard counting does not include the start date. Inclusive counting adds the start date when you need to count both endpoints of the period.

Standard

January 1 to January 2 is one day. This is the most common convention for measuring elapsed time.

Inclusive

Includes the start date. This is useful for stays, reports, or counts where both endpoints are part of the period.

Weekdays

This version excludes Saturdays and Sundays. Country-specific holidays are not included.

Notice

This calculator helps count dates, but it does not replace legal, labor, tax, or contractual rules. Always verify the criteria that apply to your situation.

Frequently asked questions

How do I calculate the difference between two dates in days?

Enter the start and end dates. The calculator shows the calendar days between them and, if selected, weekdays excluding Saturdays and Sundays.

Is the start day counted when calculating days between dates?

By default, the start date is not counted. January 1 to January 2 is one day. Enable inclusive counting if you need to count both endpoints.

What is the difference between calendar days and weekdays?

Calendar days include every day. Weekdays in this version exclude Saturdays and Sundays, but do not exclude holidays.

How do I calculate the date 30 days from now?

Use Add or subtract mode, choose a start date, enter 30, and select days. The result shows the date, day of the week, week of the year, and day of the year.

How do I calculate 30 weekdays after a date?

In Add or subtract mode, select the weekdays unit. The calculator advances Monday through Friday and skips Saturdays and Sundays.

Does the calculator exclude holidays?

Not in this version. Weekdays only exclude Saturdays and Sundays. Country-specific holidays may be added later with a maintainable local dataset.

Can I use it for legal or employment deadlines?

It is a calculation aid, but it does not replace legal, labor, tax, or contractual rules. Always verify the criteria that apply to your situation.
