How to interpret the result

A progressive table does not apply the marginal rate to all income: it uses a fixed amount plus the bracket rate on the excess above its lower bound.

Estimated income tax

This is the tax calculated for the selected pay frequency or tax year.

Effective rate

This is the estimated income tax divided by your taxable base; it is not the same as the marginal rate.

Balance

It only compares the calculation with the withholding entered. It is not an official assessment.

Frequently asked questions

What does this tool calculate?

It calculates an informational income-tax estimate using the selected official Mexico 2026 table. You can estimate payroll withholding or annual tax.

What taxable base should I enter?

Enter the taxable base for the pay period or tax year—the amount already subject to the income-tax calculation. Do not subtract deductions from that base again.

What is the difference between withholding and annual tax?

Withholding is the estimated income tax on a specific payment based on its frequency. Annual tax uses the tax-year table and is compared with accumulated withholding.

Does the balance show how much I owe SAT?

No. The balance is an informational comparison between calculated tax and the withholding entered. Your final liability may change because of deductions, additional income, credits, and other circumstances.

Does the calculator include personal deductions or IMSS?

Not automatically. This version calculates basic income tax and does not include personal deductions, IMSS, INFONAVIT, or other items not entered or requiring additional rules.
