How is the minimum grade calculated?
Subtract the contribution of your current grade from the target and divide by pending weight. The formula is: required grade = (target - current grade times graded weight) / pending weight.
What does current grade mean?
It is the average of graded assessments, excluding the pending exam, project or assessment.
What is the difference between graded and pending weight?
Graded weight is the portion already counted, such as 70%. Pending weight is the portion still to be graded, such as a final exam worth 30%.
What if the result exceeds the maximum grade?
The target is not reachable on the entered scale. The calculator shows the final grade you would reach even with the maximum grade.
Can I use a 0-to-100 scale?
Yes. You can also use a 0–10 scale or a custom scale such as 0–5 or 1–7.
What if my school rounds to tenths or whole numbers?
