Quick example

Assignments worth 30% with a 9, an exam worth 40% with an 8 and a project worth 30% with a 10 produce a final grade of 8.9.

Accumulated

This is the contribution already made to 100% of the course. If little weight has been graded, this number may look low even when your performance is good.

Graded average

Summarizes only graded work. It helps assess current performance without penalizing pending work.

Target

Calculates the average needed on remaining work to finish with the target grade.

Frequently asked questions

What does weighted grade mean?

Each activity contributes according to its weight. An assignment worth 10% has less influence than an exam worth 40%, even when both use the same scale.

Do the weights have to add up to 100%?

Ideally, yes. If they add up to less, the calculator shows the unassigned weight; if they exceed 100%, it shows the excess so you can correct it.

What if I have pending assessments?

Mark them as pending and enter an optional estimated grade. You can also calculate the average needed across all remaining weight to reach a target.

How do I calculate the grade needed on the final exam?

Enter graded assessments, mark the exam as pending and add your target grade. The calculator divides the remaining points by the remaining weight.

Can I use a 0-to-100 scale?

Yes. Use a 0–10, 0–100 or custom scale with your school's maximum grade.
