Publicidad

What it includes

The result combines fuel and user-entered variable expenses.

Fuel

Use distance, fuel economy and price per liter or US gallon to estimate liters and cost.

Variable expenses

Tolls, parking and other expenses are added to trip cost.

No propiedad

It does not include insurance, depreciation, maintenance, taxes or financiamiento.

Planeacion

Recurrence and budget help interpret the same trip cost as a weekly or monthly expense or compare it with a limit.

These projections multiply only the entered variable costs. Total ownership cost would also require maintenance, depreciation, insurance and taxes in a separate mode.

Frequently asked questions

How do you calculate cost per kilometer?

Add fuel cost and the trip's variable expenses. Then divide the total by the distance traveled.

How do you calculate fuel for a trip?

Convert fuel economy to km/L and divide total distance by that rate. The calculator can also add a simple margin.

How do I add tolls and parking?

Enter those amounts under additional expenses. They are added to fuel cost to obtain the trip's total cost.

Are tolls doubled for a round trip?

By default, they are treated as total expenses already entered. To treat them as one-way costs, turn on Double expenses for round trip.

How do you split the cost among passengers?

Enter the number of passengers. The calculator divides the total cost by that number.

How do you estimate monthly spending on the same trip?

Use the optional recurring trips field and choose week or month. The projection multiplies only the trip's variable costs.

How do I know whether the trip fits my budget?

Enter an available budget. The result shows how much remains or how much is missing compared with total cost.

Does the calculator include maintenance and depreciation?

No. It estimates variable trip costs. It does not include maintenance, depreciation, insurance or other vehicle ownership costs.

Can I use miles and gallons?

Yes. Distance accepts km or mi, fuel economy accepts km/L, L/100 km or US mpg, and price can be entered per liter or US gallon.
